Peer Ministry

"Peer Ministry has not only allowed me to grow in my faith life but help others as well. Since starting in ministry, my faith life has grown a lot and I am a lot closer with God and happier with my faith life. Peer Ministry is not only a group of people who have a common goal, it is truly a family!"
- Nicole Reidy

As a Peer Minister, you will help foster the spiritual, emotional and social growth of resident students - meeting them where they are and inviting them to take steps of faith, including:

  • Helping residents grow as persons and as part of a community
  • Providing regular social events, service opportunities, and faith-sharing groups each semester to nurture community within a respective residence hall
  • Providing personal assistance to those in academic, emotional and spiritual need
  • Having an active association with the faith community at Lewis - participating in the Sunday evening liturgy in Sancta Alberta

In recognition of their service, Peer Ministers will receive 1 credit hour of workshop credit, and a significant stipend each semester.

Peer Ministers

Tim Collins

I was raised in Peotone, IL and am currently a senior at Lewis University. I am majoring in environmental science with a focus on ecology. When I’m not a researcher in the bio labs, I’m a peer minister in Sheil. I’m also Co-President of sustainability club, a student representative on the Lewis University Sustainability Council, a member of the Student Senate as Mission Senator, and a student representative for Board of Trustee Committee. I’ve also led a variety of retreats through University Ministry.  After graduation, I plan to move out west to work for a national park as a restoration ecologist.

Connor Frank

Hi! My name is Connor Frank, and I am a pilot. I’m originally from East Lansing, Michigan, and I am pursuing a major in Aviation Flight Management. I am a sophomore at Lewis, and I love Founders Hall because there is a sense of community here.  Something funny about me is that I will stop in the middle of a walk or a conversation if I hear an airplane. I won't continue until I can see the plane and say what make and model it is.

Giselle Nevarez

I’m originally from Chicago.  I’m a junior with a major in criminal justice & a minor in Spanish. I love Founders because it’s so fresh.  All the new faces, the new stories, and just the new college experience I hope to help my residents with!  Fun fact: I love hot Cheetos, I saved my meal money from last year to buy about 5 large boxes of them. They lasted me all summer.

Lenny Flores

My name is Lenny Flores. I am a senior that is double majoring in Computer Engineering and Computer Science with a minor in Math.  Something that I love about my hall is that it prepares me to live in a closet if that’s ever necessary.  Or, I should say that the rooms are very cozy.

Gina Severin

I am a sophomore at Lewis University who also grew up in Romeoville. I am apart of CRS as an ambassador for Lewis, SOL Leader, and also a Peer Minister. I've traveled internationally to do mission work and also serve in the local community. I am majoring in Psychology with a minor in Peace Studies. I enjoy spending my free time outside and being active.

Sydney Phillips

I’m from Palos Heights, IL and a junior here, major in Radio/TV Broadcasting.  I love the section style living of JP. After living in traditional dorms for two years, it is something new and exciting. It's also really close to Courtyard and that for sure a plus for me.  I have four classes in the basement of JP. That's always humorous and convenient.

Alexis Luna

I'm from Streamwood, Illinois. I am a senior psychology major. What I love about being the peer minister in Mother Teresa is meeting and getting to know the residents. When I'm not studying, I'm involved with ministry and other organizations on campus. I was able to study abroad in Australia was photobombed by a kangaroo. It is still one of my favorite pictures to this day.

Taylor Boelte

I am a sophomore nursing major & Spanish minor from Rockton Illinois.  I play softball at Lewis.  I love the community in Sheil.  Everyone gets along and supports each other. Many people just hang out together in the lounges.

Rachel Seiberlich

Hello!  My name is Rachel Seiberlich, and I am originally from Warrenville, IL.  I am a senior double majoring in Mathematics and Secondary Education and minoring in Theology.  I live in St. Charles Borromeo Hall, and I love it!  Everyone in the dorm is friendly, and it has been great living there so far.  I have been a Peer Minister since my sophomore year, and each year I've met more and more amazing people, and I hope this continues this year!  If you see me around campus, feel free to say hi!

Nia White

I am originally from Chicago and am now a senior math major.  I love the calming community in Dorothy Day Hall. Everyone is super friendly. And no one says anything about my awful singing while doing laundry, yet.

Jacob Kreiss

I'm from Brookfield,IL. I am a sophomore nursing major.  I love South Hall because it’s really easy to get to get to know people well.
