Computer Science and Cyber Security Camp

Date: July 9-12, 2018

Time: 9am to Noon (daily)

Where: AS-1040-A

For: Students from Grade 8 through Grade 12

Cost: $100 (includes a t-shirt)

Learn how to program in Python, one of today's hottest computer languages. Then apply your new programming skills to solve cyber security challenges, such as how to encrypt data, authenticate users, and automate system administration tasks. No prior experience necessary: just a commitment to learn a lot quickly.


Girls Create with Technology

Time: 9am - 2pm daily.

For: Middle and High School girls

Fee: Free. Lunch and T-Shirt included

Girls Create with Technology will engage 20 middle and high school girls in computer science and STEM activities through a four-day summer camp. Girls will receive advanced training in various aspects of Computer Science. Dr. Cindy Howard will teach girls to program robots that they build with arts and crafts supplies and a computer control board using Scratch and Python and how to build a wireless control system for robots using a Raspberry Pi.

Date: June 9-16, 2018 (Saturday - Saturday)

For: High school Juniors & Seniors

Cost: $150

You will explore theology as an academic study, while cultivating your relationship with God, self, & others. (Morning sessions)

Explore the possibilities for your life’s call with new friends as part of a diverse and engaged college community – learning from each other’s stories.

Serve people – hearing their stories, addressing needs, working for Justice, while growing as a servant leader.

You will have the opportunity to ask questions about the moral dimensions of current issues.  There is also opportunity to create your own spiritual story!


Leadership Camps
Learning to Lead

Date: July 25-26, 2018

Time: 9am - 3pm (daily)

For: High School Students

Cost: $65 per person (includes lunches, snacks, t-shirt and certificate of completion)

Please join us for a two-day interactive program that will focus on leadership, team building and positive group outcomes. The program is open to high school age students and will be offered at Lewis University’s Romeoville Campus. This program is designed for those who hold leadership positions in high school (student council, sports, clubs, honor societies, etc.) as well as those who would like to in the future. All high school age students are welcome!

Learning to Lead is supported by a generous donation from Meijer.



Language Camps

Chinese and Russian Courses for High-school and Lewis University students

Date: June 18-July 13, 2018.


STARTALK is one of the projects of the National Security Initiative, a multi-agency effort to expand foreign language education in under-taught critical languages by funding new and existing programs and to provide incentives and rewards for foreign language learning.

STARTALK’s overall mission is to increase the number of young Americans learning and speaking critical need foreign languages by offering creative and engaging summer learning experiences for students (K-16).

Lewis University has been offering Startalk Program since 2009.

This year’s summer program will offer its participants an intensive instruction in beginning Chinese and Russian. Both courses will be conducted on the Lewis University Romeoville campus from June 18th to July 13th.



Aviation Camps

  • Campers are divided into age groups

Location: Lewis University, Romeoville Campus (Student Recreation & Fitness Center)


  • $80 per kid per week
  • Lewis fac/staff or alum: $60 per kid per week

Daily Schedule:

  • 9am-9:30am: Roll Call and Warm Up
  • 9:30am-10am: Tennis skill of the day
  • 10am-11am: Recreational Activity
  • 11am-Noon: Pool Activities



Aviation Flight Cmap
Aviation Flight Camp

Date: Monday, July 16 – Friday, July 20, 2018 (check-in on Monday at 10 am and leave on Friday after lunch)

For: All High School Students (Freshmen – Seniors)

Location: Lewis University, Romeoville Campus (Harold E. White Aviation Center)

Cost: $1,495 for the week (includes Room & Board, meals and flight cost)

Participants will have the opportunity to fly in Cessna 172s each day, take a behind-the-scenes tour of an airport, participate in various aviation classes, use flight simulators and quadcopter UAVs and learn about the aviation industry from current professionals in aviation. Aviation meteorology, aircraft maintenance, air traffic control, flight theory, and 21st century aircraft including Unmanned Aerial Vehicles, will be some of the topics discussed by Lewis aviation professors. Participants will also have access to the Lewis fleet of 25 airplanes, as well as experiencing flight with a flight instructor. Students will receive a Pilot log book to log their hours, and a flight camp t-shirt.
