Lewis University encourages the pursuit of research and scholarship among its faculty and students. Securing grants from external sources provides resources for education and innovation that would not be otherwise available, and will make the classroom experience at Lewis more valuable.

The Office of Sponsored Programs is a new initiative at Lewis University, with the broad goal of increasing both the amount of funded programs, but also raising the profile of Lewis as a destination for scholars and researchers. The specific mission of the Office of Sponsored Programs is to assist faculty and students in their efforts to obtain government and foundation grants to support research and other scholarly and service activities.

The Office of Sponsored Programs offers the following services:

  • Project and program development assistance
  • Sponsor identification and research
  • Budget development
  • Editing and document review
  • Administrative review and signatures
  • Proposal Submittal
  • Post-award administrative services

On this website you will find some basic tips for grant proposal writing, in addition to links to sources of grant funding. The site will also include Lewis University forms that you may require to apply for and administer your grant. The site will receive periodic updates, so be sure to check in often. In the meantime, if you have questions or need assistance, please call Jeff Ritchie at (815) 836-5129 or contact him via email at ritchije@lewisu.edu.
